If there are n terms and n is odd, we take the average of the n/2 and (n+2)/2 terms as the median. If there are n terms and n is odd, we take the (n + 1)/2 as the median. A median does not use weights, and does not add up the values of the data values.A weighted average assigns a weight w i to each data value x i and adds up the products w ix i.Median is found by arranging the data values in increasing order and then taking the “middle” term. Weighted average is not the same as median.
